ISO Certification in Lahore
Axora Global provides ISO certification consultancy to businesses across Lahore, from the manufacturing units in Kot Lakhpat and Sundar Industrial Estate to the software houses along Ferozepur Road. We are based in the city and work with clients throughout Punjab.
Lahore's industrial mix decides which certifications actually come up
Textiles and garments, light engineering and auto parts, pharmaceuticals, food processing and a fast growing technology sector.
We handle the full journey: gap analysis and documentation, staff training, internal audits, and coordination with accredited certification bodies through to the certification audit itself.
That industrial mix is why the enquiries we receive in Lahore look different from the ones we receive elsewhere in Pakistan. A dyeing unit in Kot Lakhpat and a software house on Ferozepur Road are both asking for certification, but almost never for the same reason and almost never for the same standard.
Everything below reflects what businesses in this city actually ask us, in the order they usually ask it.
In our experience the trigger is rarely internal
It is usually one of four things, and which one it is changes how the project should be run and how fast it has to move.
An export buyer asks for it
Lahore's textile and garment exporters sell into European and North American supply chains where a certified management system is a condition of doing business, not a differentiator.
A tender requires it
Public sector and large private tenders in Punjab increasingly list ISO 9001 as a qualification criterion. Businesses without it are filtered out before the commercial evaluation.
A regulator has been in touch
Food businesses in particular tend to move after an inspection rather than before one, which makes the timeline shorter and the documentation gap wider.
A customer runs a supplier audit
Auto parts and pharmaceutical suppliers face this most often, and a multinational supplier audit leaves very little room to improvise on the day.
Which standards Lahore businesses ask for most
Each standard has its own page covering scope, timeline, cost drivers and the questions clients ask most often.
Quality Management
The most requested standard in the city, because it is the one most often written into tender documents and multinational supplier codes. Manufacturers, service providers and trading houses all certify to it.
Explore ISO 14001Environmental Management
Particularly relevant to textile processing, dyeing and leather units, where effluent discharge and emissions are regulated by the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency. It gives you a structured way to track those obligations rather than responding to inspections one at a time.
Explore ISO 45001Occupational Health and Safety
Common in engineering, construction and manufacturing, where machinery guarding, work at height and materials handling create the bulk of the risk.
Explore HACCPFood Hazard Control
The Punjab Food Authority has been among the most active food regulators in the country, and Lahore's processors, bakeries, dairy units and catering operations are the businesses most affected by that.
Explore ISO 22000Food Safety Management
The full management system for food businesses that need more than a hazard plan, and the usual next step once a buyer starts asking questions a HACCP plan alone cannot answer.
Explore ISO 27001Information Security
Increasingly requested by software houses, BPOs and financial services firms in Lahore serving overseas clients who ask for evidence of information security before signing.
Explore FSSC 22000GFSI Recognised Food Safety
What multinational retailers and brands usually mean when they ask a Lahore supplier for GFSI recognised certification.
Explore Not Sure WhichSend us the requirement
Forward the buyer questionnaire, tender clause or inspection notice you received and we will tell you which standard actually applies before any work starts.
Ask AxoraThe two questions everyone asks first
Most small and medium businesses in Lahore complete implementation in that window. What moves the timeline is how much you already document. A unit that keeps written procedures, training records and maintenance logs is further along than it realises. One working from undocumented practice needs that baseline established first.
There is no fixed price list. Cost depends on your headcount, the number of sites in scope, the complexity of your processes and how much documentation already exists. Certification body fees are charged separately by the accredited body, based on audit days, and are not part of a consultancy fee.
Working with a Lahore based consultancy
Implementation is not a document exercise. It needs people on site, watching how work actually happens rather than how the procedure says it happens.
Being in the city matters more than it sounds. It needs people walking the production floor and sitting with supervisors. That is difficult to do well from another city, and it is the part that determines whether a system survives its first surveillance audit.
We attend the certification audit with you, and we stay involved afterwards for surveillance visits and system updates. The relationship does not end when the certificate is issued, because that is precisely when most systems begin to drift.
We train your team, not just your paperwork
Alongside consultancy, Axora Global delivers training across every standard we implement, so your own people can maintain the system, run internal audits and prepare for surveillance visits without calling for outside help each time.
What Lahore businesses ask us before they start
The questions below come up on almost every first call. The answers are the same ones we give on the phone, including the ones that are not what a client wants to hear.
Which standard do Lahore buyers actually ask for?
ISO 9001 is the one most often written into tender documents and multinational supplier codes, so it is the most requested standard in the city. European buyers increasingly add ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, particularly in textiles and leather where environmental discharge and worker safety are what their own customers are asking them about. Food processors are asked for HACCP, ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 depending on who is buying. If you have a written requirement in front of you, send it to us and we will tell you which standard it actually names before any work starts.
Our buyer asked for a BSCI or SMETA audit. Is that the same as ISO?
No, and this catches out a lot of apparel and textile exporters in Lahore. amfori BSCI, Sedex SMETA and WRAP are social and ethical audit programmes. They look at labour conditions, working hours, wages, health and safety practice and factory ethics, and they are usually commissioned by your buyer rather than chosen by you. ISO certification is a management system certification against a published standard, assessed by an accredited certification body. They are separate things with separate assessors, and passing one does not satisfy the other. An ISO 45001 system will help you at a social audit because the health and safety evidence overlaps, but it is not a substitute for one.
How long does ISO certification take in Lahore?
Most small and medium businesses in Lahore complete implementation in about 6 to 12 weeks. The certification body's Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits sit after that, with time in between to close any findings. What moves the timeline is how much you already document. A unit that already keeps written procedures, training records and maintenance logs is further along on day one than one that does not.
What does it cost, and why are there two prices?
Because there are two suppliers. The consultancy fee pays for building the system and training your people. The certification body's audit fee is separate, you contract with them directly, and it recurs through the certification cycle because accredited certification carries surveillance audits. Anyone quoting a single all in number is hiding one of the two. The consultancy cost depends on your size, your number of locations and the complexity of your operation, so book a free consultation for an exact quote rather than a guess.
Can you certify us as well as consult?
No, and nobody honest in this market can. ISO/IEC 17021-1 clause 5.2.5 says a certification body shall not offer or provide management system consultancy, and clause 5.2.7 bars it from certifying a management system for at least two years after any consultancy ends. We build your system and arrange the certification body audit separately. If another consultancy in Lahore offers you implementation and an accredited certificate in one price, that combination cannot exist.
Does the certificate have to be accredited?
If the point of it is to satisfy a customer, yes. Accreditation is a check on the checker: an accreditation authority audits the certification body against ISO/IEC 17021-1. In Pakistan that authority is the Pakistan National Accreditation Council, which is a signatory to the International Accreditation Forum and Pacific Accreditation Cooperation multilateral arrangements for quality and environmental management systems. Many certificates here carry foreign accreditation instead, from authorities such as UKAS or ANAB, which is equally valid. An unaccredited certificate exists as a document but your buyer cannot verify it.
How do we check a certificate is genuine?
Look it up in IAF CertSearch, the International Accreditation Forum's public database, and check the accreditation authority's own register for the certification body. Not every certificate is listed, because it depends on the body uploading its data, so an absence is a question rather than a verdict. If it is not listed, contact the certification body using details you found independently rather than details printed on the certificate.
Do we need a separate certificate for each site?
Not necessarily. A certificate carries a scope statement naming the activities and the sites it covers, and a multi site certificate can cover several locations under one management system. What matters is that the scope on the certificate actually covers the site and the activity your buyer is asking about. Adding a site later is a scope extension, not a new certification, and it is cheaper to include it from the start than to bolt it on.
What happens after the certificate arrives?
Accredited certification runs on a cycle with surveillance audits and a full recertification audit at the end of it. Your internal audit and management review have to keep happening, and those two are what organisations most often fail on at the first surveillance visit. Ask any consultancy what post certification support is included and what it costs before you sign, because a system nobody maintains lapses quietly.
