No. HACCP is a hazard control method and is not recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative on its own. If a multinational retailer or brand has asked for GFSI recognised certification, they usually mean FSSC 22000, which combines ISO 22000 with a prerequisite programme standard and additional requirements. A working HACCP plan is still the right first step, because the hazard analysis carries straight into either standard. Send us the buyer’s exact wording and we will tell you which one they are asking for.
